HOW TO MEASURE YOUR AISLE

When figuring out what length aisle runner your need, contacting your venue is a great place to start as they readily have the aisle dimensions available. You can also inquire with your planner or florist, as they are often familiar with event spaces.

Here’s a guide to measuring your aisle for the perfect fit.

MEASURING THE WIDTH

Measure the distance across the aisle (from chair to chair) to determine the maximum width runner that will fit.

  • For most aisles, our standard 42″ (3.5 ft.) width is an excellent choice
  • For wider aisles, or if you are trying to cover up unsightly flooring, we
offer a deluxe 58″ (~5 ft.) option, available exclusively in white and
perfect for three people walking down the aisle

MEASURING THE LENGTH

The length depends on your desired beginning & end point. In the section below you will find some photos to help you decide which is the best look for you. Don’t worry too much as there is really no “right” or “wrong” way, as long as it covers the seating section of the aisle.

  • Standard lengths (25, 50, 75, 100 & 125 feet). Available for purchase from our online shop if you do not want personalization on the runner.
  • We can accommodate any length up to 125 feet, so there is no problem
if a non-standard length is needed, just give us a call.
  • 50 ft. is our most popular length for ballroom weddings with 100-150ft guests

Original Runners can be cut on-site with a sharp pair of scissors, so you can always order a size up and trim to the desired length.

TIP: to easily trim your runner on-site, place painters tape across the fabric & reposition it until it looks straight, then use the tape edge as a cutting guide.

WHERE TO START & END MEASURements

TOP EDGE IDEAS
(ceremony end)

1 Install flush to the front row of chairs.

2 At a natural stopping point such as a raised platform.

3 Past where the couple will be standing. As the couple will pivot on the runner, we recommend securing the top edge with a little tape.

Most popular placement for wedding aisle runner is flush with the top row of chairs.

BOTTOM EDGE IDEAS
(start of aisle)

A Flush to the back row of chairs.

B A small lead in (great if you have decor such as pedestals at the aisle entrance).

C A long lead in. If installing up to a set of doors; make sure there is enough clearance under the doors & use a lil tape to ensure it does not catch.

aisle estimate tool

We know it is not always possible to get on-site to measure so we’ve created an aisle estimate tool. As each venue is unique, this should be used as a guide only.
